Fox News provided context to the video:
New video shows the moment of a deadly ground collision between an Air Canada jet and a fire truck on a runway at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Sunday night.
The plane is seen landing on Runway 4 around 11:45 p.m. as the Port Authority fire truck crosses the runway in front of the aircraft’s path.
In an air traffic control audio clip from the moments before the crash, a controller can be heard on a radio transmission discussing the request for the emergency vehicle to cross part of the tarmac, appearing to give clearance before he then frantically tried to stop the vehicle.
“Stop, Truck 1. Stop,” the transmission said. “Frontier 4195, stop there please. “Stop, stop, stop, stop.”
“Truck 1, stop, stop, stop,” a controller was heard saying. “Stop truck one. Stop!”
The aircraft strikes the fire truck head on, according to the video, completely ripping off the nose of the plane.
ADVERTISEMENTBoth pilots aboard the CRJ-900 plane were killed. Officials said dozens of others aboard the plane were injured. At least two Port Authority firefighters in the truck also suffered “serious injuries,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.
A Port Authority spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital that the Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle was responding to a separate incident as the aircraft was landing on Runway 4 at LaGuardia.

NBC News provided more on the collision:
The incident involved Air Canada Flight 8646, which had just landed with 72 passengers and four crew members, and a Port Authority fire-rescue vehicle responding to a separate issue on another flight. Air traffic control audio recordings appeared to show a controller had cleared the vehicle to cross the runway before telling it to stop.
“I messed up,” one air traffic controller is heard saying on the recording.
In the aftermath, the airport was shut down until around 3 p.m. Monday, when officials reopened one of the runways shortly before Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was expected to arrive.
ADVERTISEMENTThe Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board and the Port Authority are investigating and Duffy told NBC News the FAA is looking into whether air traffic control staffing was an issue in the incident.
Of those aboard, 41 people were treated for injuries, some of them serious injuries, at local hospitals, Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia said at a news conference early Monday. So far, 32 have been released from hospitals.
Two of the injured, a sergeant and an officer, have broken limbs and are in stable condition, according to preliminary information two sources with knowledge of the investigation told NBC News. Garcia said the two officers had injuries that were not life-threatening.
Sources said the plane, a Jazz Aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada, was at the end of landing and going about 30 mph when the collision occurred around 11:40 p.m.
Garcia said the truck was responding to an unrelated odor report on a United flight.
In the air traffic controller audio recording, the controller said the flight attendants on the United flight were feeling ill due to the odor. In another recording, a controller is heard requesting permission to cross the runway.
