Hopefully, you didn’t have to take a flight the last couple of weeks.
For the last two weeks, airports across the United States have experienced delays and long lines due to TSA agents calling out because they have not been paid.
Take a look:

The agents are not getting paid due to Senate Democrats’ refusal to fund the Homeland Security Appropriations bill.
The White House has a plan to temporarily fix these long lines and delays by deploying ICE agents to help assist TSA agents
In an interview on CNN, Border Czar Tom Homan revealed the capacity in which ICE agents will be used.
The Hill provided fourteenth details on Homan’s comments.
White House border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers will not be directly involved in security measures at airports, a day before agency officials will begin assisting Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees.
“Wherever we can provide extra security, I don’t see an ICE agent looking at an X-ray machine, because we’re not trained in that,” Homan told host Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“But there are certain parts of security that TSA is doing that we can move them off those jobs, and put them in the specialized jobs to help move those lines,” he added.
“We’ll have a plan by the end of today,” he added. Homan also said that while the plan is a “work in progress,” it is his view that ICE should prioritize airports “where the longest waits are.”

CNN reported that Trump has also confirmed the deployment of ICE agents on Monday:
President Donald Trump said Saturday he will deploy Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to US airports on Monday if an agreement isn’t reached to fund the Department of Homeland Security as Transportation Security Administration workers go without pay and travel disruptions mount.
“If the Democrats do not allow for Just and Proper Security at our Airports, and elsewhere throughout our Country, ICE will do the job far better than ever done before!” the president wrote on Truth Social. “I look forward to moving ICE in on Monday, and have already told them to, ‘GET READY.’ NO MORE WAITING, NO MORE GAMES!”
A partial government shutdown has led to TSA staffing shortages that have contributed to delays, with unpredictable wait times expected to continue throughout the weekend. Lawmakers have been working to reach an agreement to reopen the Department of Homeland Security, but even as they’re eager to reach a deal in the next week before Congress leaves town for a lengthy spring recess, a resolution remains uncertain.
