Denmark And Greenland Officials Arrive At White House To Meet With Vice President JD Vance

It appears that the Trump administration is quite serious about gaining control of Greenland, to the extent that Denmark and Greenland officials are meeting with JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss the matter.

On Wednesday morning, diplomats from both Greenland and Denmark were spotted walking into the White House to discuss their disagreement with the United States’ plans to take over Greenland.

AP reported the following details on the arrival of the diplomats:

Officials from Greenland and Denmark met in Washington on Wednesday with top White House officials as President Donald Trump moved to ratchet up the pressure by suggesting that NATO should help the United States acquire the world’s largest island and saying anything less than it being under American control is unacceptable.

Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are participating in the talks with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Greenlandic Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt to discuss Greenland, a semiautonomous territory of NATO ally Denmark.

NBC News reported that President Trump believes anything less than the U.S. controlling Greenland is unacceptable:

Trump said in a Truth Social post this morning that the U.S. needs Greenland for national security purposes, adding, “Anything less than that is unacceptable.”

“NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. IF WE DON’T, RUSSIA OR CHINA WILL, AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!” he wrote.

“Militarily, without the vast power of the United States, much of which I built during my first term, and am now bringing to a new and even higher level, NATO would not be an effective force or deterrent — Not even close!” he added. “They know that, and so do I. NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES.”
