I didn’t even know this rumor existed before this actor responded to it.
Actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani, who is best known for his role in Marvel movies, has responded to a rumor that he was having an affair with former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Nanjiani addressed the rumors while appearing on the “So True” podcast, where he denied having any kind of relationship with Michelle Obama.
The New York Post broke the story and provided clearer details on the rumor:
Comedian Kumail Nanjiani has revealed the surreal moment his wife was told he was “doing it” with Michelle Obama — even though he’s never met the former first lady.
“The Big Sick” star revealed in a recent podcast that his wife, Emily Gordon, told him about the fast-spreading, false rumor he was having an affair with the former first lady, amid other rumors she was having her own marital woes with her husband, former President Michelle Obama.
“I was so excited!” the actor said of the flattering rumor.
“My friend, our mutual friend, pulled Emily aside and was like, ‘Hey, so I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are like doing it.’ And she was like, she wasn’t even upset, but multiple people brought it up to me,” he told comic Caleb Hearon on the “So True” podcast.
“I have never met Michelle Obama,” Nanjiani stressed.
The conversation pivoted to the Obamas, and the previously wiudely spread unfounded rumor that the former president was having a romance with “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston.
“What I’m saying is, my friend Kumail, you’re up there with Jen Aniston in terms of affair rumors,” Hearon teased the comedian.

ABC News reported earlier in the year that Michele and Barack Obama addressed rumors that the couple were heading for a divorce:
Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama are laughing off the divorce rumors that have plagued them for much of the past year.
Barack Obama joined his wife and his brother-in-law Craig Robinson on Wednesday for an episode of the siblings’ podcast, “IMO.”
While the episode topic focused on raising young men, the Obamas and Robinson kicked off their conversation with some laughs about the rumors that the Obamas’ decadeslong marriage is in trouble.
“Wait, you guys like each other?” Robinson joked when Barack Obama entered the conversation, prompting Michelle Obama to reply, “Oh yeah, the rumor mill.”
Barack Obama quickly continued the joke, replying to Robinson, “She took me back. It was touch and go for a while.”
