STRIKE IMMINENT: President Trump Declares No Fly Zone Above And Surrounding Venezuela

Things are getting quite tense between the United States and Venezuela.

On Saturday morning, President Trump announced a no fly zone is in place above Venezuela and its surrounding areas.

The move by Trump comes as the U.S. military has conducted several airstrikes on Venezuela drug boats.

The Hill provided further context:

President Trump on Saturday said the airspace above Venezuela is now completely closed off as tensions escalate between the U.S. and South American country over alleged drug trafficking.

“To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

The FAA recently advised pilots to “exercise caution” near Venezuela’s airspace due to the “worsening security situation and heightened military activity” in and around the country.

USA Today further reported President Trump announced he will be conducting land strikes on Venezuela soon:

Amid a buildup of U.S. military forces near Venezuela and strikes on alleged drug boats, President Donald Trump told U.S. troops on Thanksgiving that the military operation will soon include strikes on land.

“In recent weeks, you’ve been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers,” Trump said during a call with military service members that alluded to the boat strikes, adding: “We’ll be starting to stop them by land also. The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon.”

Since early September, the Trump administration has attacked at least 21 boats traversing the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific in international waters, killing 83 people − many of them Venezuelans. Administration officials have said, without providing evidence, that those boats were attempting to carry narcotics to the United States.
