President Trump Issues New Statement On Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie

President Trump on Saturday said Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) are both RINOs.

“Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown (Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!), betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left, performed poorly on the pathetic View, and became the RINO that we all know she always was,” Trump said.

“Just another Fake politician, no different than Rand Paul Jr. (Thomas Massie), who got caught being a full fledged Republican In Name Only (RINO)!” he added.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” Trump said in another post.

The statements follow Trump withdrawing his endorsement for Greene, suggesting he would support a primary opponent.

The Hill shared:

The criticism between the two erupted amid the release of email exchanges from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, in which the president’s name is mentioned. Greene was among four Republicans to sign a discharge petition to force a vote in the House on requiring the Department of Justice to release all information about their probe of the disgraced financier.

Trump urged Republicans not to engage in anything Epstein-related, which Greene called a “huge miscalculation.”

She has also called the Trump administration’s handling of affordability issues into question, claiming the president is “gaslighting” Americans on the issue and criticized Trump for meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa instead of working with Republican lawmakers to push for an alternative to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and expiring subsidies that could raise health insurance premiums.

Prior to the end of the shutdown, after Greene lambasted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for not offering an ACA alternative, Trump said the Georgia Republican had “lost her way.”

"I want to thank everyone who texted and posted and commented support for me, you all are so kind and I appreciate, love, and support you too. I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are. And it truly speaks for itself. There needs to be a new way forward. The toxic political industrial complex thrives on ripping us all apart but never delivers anything good for the American people, whom I love," Greene said Saturday.

"The PIC tells us to hate each other, fundraises off why we have to hate each other, and pits Americans against each other to the point of violence and nearing civil war. This is all so wrong. We can have our own differences and differing opinions but we can still love and respect one another. We have far more in common than we have apart," Greene continued.

"I believe in the American people more than I believe in any leader or political party and the American people deserve so much better than how they have been treated by both sides of the aisle. The way forward is America First America Only. And that may be the most dangerous pursuit of all," she added.

"This and the Epstein files is why I’m being attacked by President Trump. It really makes you wonder what is in those files and who and what country is putting so much pressure on him? I forgive him and I will pray for him to return to his original MAGA promises," Greene said in another post, sharing images of her 'Liberty Score' compared to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and receiving zero funds from AIPAC.

CNN provided additional details:

Earlier Friday, Trump defended his efforts to engage with foreign leaders and travel abroad amid Greene’s criticism, suggesting that his relationships on the world stage have benefited her district and expressing openness to endorsing a potential primary challenger.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene said, ‘Oh, gee, I’m spending too much time overseas. So let’s say I don’t meet with China. You know what’s happened right now to Georgia? To every other state?” Trump said aboard Air Force One.

He continued: “They’re not working because your magnets and your rare earths would’ve kicked in, and there wouldn’t have been a factory in the world working if I didn’t have a relationship overseas with China.”

Trump said that he is in the United States “95, 98% of the time.”

“The last thing I want to do is travel 22 hours in an airplane, as nice as this plane is,” he said.

Trump warned that Greene has “changed” politically in recent weeks as the Georgia congresswoman has publicly lambasted the White House’s messaging on the government shutdown and Jeffrey Epstein.

“I think that her constituents aren’t going to be happy. Already, I have people calling me. They want to challenge her to a race in her district in Georgia,” Trump said.

He also said he was open to endorsing a rival GOP candidate in a primary race.
