Trump Admin Denies Zohran Mamdani’s Accusation Linking Them to Polling Station Bomb Threats

Democrat Socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani made a bold claim on Tuesday afternoon.

After multiple polling stations in New York City received bomb threats, Mamdani claimed the bomb threats were an effort of the Trump admin to intimidate voters.

Yahoo News provided more details on Mamdani’s false claims:

Zohran Mamdani blamed bomb threats at multiple New Jersey polling locations on President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

The frontrunner to be New York City’s next mayor shared his opinion with reporters on the morning of Election Day, after bomb threats temporarily closed down polling sites in the Garden State.

Those threats, Mamdani said, were “part of the general approach the Trump administration has taken to intimidate voters with baseless allegations of voter fraud as a means of trying to repress the voice of Americans across this country.”

The 34-year-old Democratic Socialist added: “It’s incredibly concerning, and I think that it is an illustration of the attacks we’re seeing on our democracy.”

Mamdani’s comments shocked a few Fox News personalities. America’s Newsroom co-host Bill Hemmer, after playing video of Mamdani blaming Trump, asked “What in the world is he talking about?”

Fox News provided more context to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s comments:

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed an effort by New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to connect Election Day bomb threats in New Jersey to president Donald Trump.

New Jersey officials say there is “no credible threat” after briefly closing several polling places due to an emailed bomb threat.

“I saw those comments from Mamdani, and I think there are completely irresponsible and they are based on zero evidence. I think this is just another example of how the Democrat Party unfortunately stands for nothing. All they stand against in President Donald Trump,” Leavitt told reporters.

“I think it’s quite sad to see that we have someone at the top of the ticket on an election day today saying such things about the president when he obviously has absolutely nothing to do with those threats,” she continued.

Earlier Tuesday, Mamdani sought to blame Trump for the bomb threats.

“It’s incredibly concerning, and I think that it is an illustration of the attacks we’re seeing on our democracy,” he told reporters.

He added that the threats were “part of the general approach the Trump administration has taken to trying to intimidate voters with baseless allegations of voter fraud as a means of trying to repress the voice of Americans across this country.”
