This morning, President Trump called for both Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to be thrown into jail!
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump called them out for failing to protect ICE agents and said that they “should be in jail.”

Gov. Pritzker was quick to respond by pushing the fake narrative that President Trump is an authoritarian.

I will not back down.
Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.
What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism? pic.twitter.com/TieJ2irYv5

Since when is it authoritarian to care about American citizens and the law enforcement who are doing everything they can to arrest and deport dangerous illegal criminals from our country?
26%-approval-rating Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson also responded:
This is not the first time Trump has tried to have a Black man unjustly arrested. I’m not going anywhere. pic.twitter.com/MQdHtzis3t

Both Pritzker and Johnson doubled down against President Trump this afternoon.
Chicago Tribune reported:
Pritzker went further later Wednesday in a live interview with MSNBC alongside a rally on Chicago’s Federal Plaza of unionized government workers affected by the ongoing shutdown in Washington.
ADVERTISEMENTCalling the president “unhinged” and “a wannabe dictator,” Pritzker turned to the camera and repeated a line he used at a news conference shortly after Trump’s election in November: “If you come for my people, you come through me.”
Holding his wrists out toward the camera, Pritzker added, “So come and get me.”
Johnson struck back with an apparent reference to Trump’s efforts to win a death penalty verdict against the now-exonerated “Central Park Five,” a group of men convicted as teens of a gruesome New York City sexual assault who were exonerated after spending years in prison and have sued Trump for defamation.
“This is not the first time Trump has tried to have a Black man unjustly arrested,” Johnson said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Speaking to local reporters on Federal Plaza, Pritzker said he doesn’t think Trump will make good on his threats, despite his administration’s moves to take legal action against political opponents such as former FBI Director James Comey, who pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges alleging he lied to Congress.
Trump is “a coward” who “likes to pretend to be a tough guy,” Pritzker said.
“He said he was going to jail (California Gov.) Gavin Newsom. He says he’s going to jail me. He says he’s going to jail the mayor of the city of Chicago,” Pritzker said. “These are people who stand against him, disagree with him, speak out about it, but literally have done nothing wrong. We are doing the people’s business by standing up for them.”
Trump’s comments appeared to refer to instructions sent to Chicago police during a protest that emerged on the Southwest Side after federal immigration agents shot a woman they later accused of ramming them with a car.

Despite Pritzker and Johnson’s refusal to come to the aid of their own citizens, that isn’t stopping President Trump from sending in troops to clean up Chicago.
Yesterday, the Texas National Guard was deployed.
From NBC News:
The president’s post comes a day after Texas National Guard troops arrived in Illinois, despite the Democrats’ fierce opposition. Trump has threatened for weeks to send troops to Chicago as part of a crime-fighting and immigration effort, and Democrats have slammed his push as overreach and a political stunt.
Reached for comment, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said that “JB Pritzker and Brandon Johnson have blood on their hands” and accused them of having “stood idly by while innocent Americans fall victim to violent crime time and time again.”
She argued that “instead of taking action to stop the crime, these Trump-Deranged buffoons would rather allow the violence to continue and attack the President for wanting to help make their city safe again.”
What do you think?
Would you like to see these two behind bars for endangering ICE officers?
