Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) disclosed he was one of the Republican members of Congress spied on through the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Quiet Skies program.
The Arizona Republican expressed gratitude to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, for exposing the TSA’s weaponization against American citizens under the Biden administration.
“Congressman Hamadeh, a former U.S. Army Reserve Intelligence Officer with a Top-Secret clearance and former Maricopa County prosecutor, was shocked to learn he was a subject of the Biden Administration’s war on Americans through Senator Paul’s heroic campaign in support of the First Amendment,” a press release from Hamadeh’s office read.
“I am disappointed but not surprised that the Biden Administration used TSA’s Quiet Skies rules to target me while I was serving this nation in the U.S. Army Reserves and as a prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Senator Paul described the program as an ‘unconstitutional dystopian nightmare masquerading as a security tool.’ I wholeheartedly agree, as my dedication to this nation and its security has never been questioned,” Hamadeh said.
“The corrupt system targets those whom they fear the most, so it offers me some consolation that I join Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a fellow veteran and former congresswoman, on this list. It is clear evidence that this program was used to target critics of Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats, who have demonstrated a blatant disregard for our civil liberties and spit on our cherished Constitution,” he continued.
“Then-Attorney General candidate Abe Hamadeh was flagged by the Biden administration’s ‘Quiet Skies’ program in December 2022,” Hamadeh’s office stated on social media.
“Interesting timing, because he was challenging the results of his 2022 election for attorney general, a race decided by 280 votes out of 2.5 million. A very legitimate challenge that Biden responded to by putting him on a government watchlist,” it added.

More from Hamadeh’s office:
During one of the periods he was targeted, Congressman Hamadeh dared to question the integrity of Arizona’s 2022 General Election in which he was a candidate. Since that time, numerous calls have gone out for investigations by the Department of Justice into principals involved in Arizona’s elections.
“Because I naturally questioned the validity of the election in 2022, Democrats hurled epithets and implied that I was a threat to our democracy. When in fact, I have done and will continue to do all I can to protect and defend our Republic,” stated Congressman Hamadeh.
As noted by DHS, the Quiet Skies program failed to stop a single terrorist attack since it was created.
Prior to the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on Tuesday, Senator Paul released a flash report based on his investigation, exposing how TSA’s Quiet Skies program and related watch lists were used to surveil Americans by the Biden administration.
ADVERTISEMENTThe report found that “three Republican lawmakers were matched to TSA’s Silent Partner and/or Quiet Skies Rules right after engaging in some kind of political activity, including opposing the Biden administration. At least two dozen Americans were placed on watch lists for protesting mask mandates or removing a mask on an aircraft. Following January 6, 2021, TSA issued a directive authorizing the watch listing of individuals based solely on suspected travel to Washington, D.C., without any specific evidence of unlawful conduct.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in a joint announcement with the TSA, said the Biden administration weaponized the TSA against “innocent American citizens.”
The DHS said an internal investigation uncovered “widespread abuses” committed by Biden administration officials.
“These officials, under the direction and leadership of former Biden TSA Administrator David Pekoske, systematically watchlisted and denied boarding to those who exercised their individual rights and resisted mask mandates on airplanes nearly six months after the CDC relaxed its indoor mask mandate,” the statement read.
“In an unprecedented act, the Biden TSA then used the January 6, 2021, protests as an excuse to target several dozen U.S. citizens. These Americans were watchlisted and harassed despite there being no evidence of wrongdoing or illegal behavior,” it continued.
