LIVING THE GOSPEL: Erika Kirk Gives Passionate Speech At Her Husband Charlie’s Memorial Service, Declares She Forgives Charlie’s K*ller


Erika Kirk delivered a heartfelt, passionate speech at her husband Charlie’s memorial service on Sunday evening.

She began her speech by sharing Charlie’s favorite verse, which was Isaiah 6:8 “Here I am, Lord; send me.”

Erika noted during a speech at a TPUSA Faith event, Charlie spoke on the verse, and after the event, she told Charlie, When you say something like that, let me know next time, because when you say that, it’s powerful and God will take you up on that.

Erika noted that she is currently being comforted in the Lord’s prayer, specifically the part that states “Thy will be done.”

Erika Kirk then shared with the thousands of people in attendance that Charlie did not suffer and died instantly.

She noted that when she saw his dead body at the hospital, he had a smile on his face because he saw his Savior’s face.

Erika also spoke on how Charlie lived the Biblical example of being a Christian husband and was a true Christian leader in his household.

She shared that Charlie would ask her, frequently, “How can I better serve you?”

The most powerful part of her speech was when she declared she forgave Charlie’s killer because that’s what Christ has done for us.

Erika Kirk said her husband, Charlie Kirk, “Wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life.”

“The answer to hate is not hate,” Erika Kirk said.

She said she forgives Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect who was charged for allegedly killing Charlie Kirk.

“That young man, I forgive him,” she said as she was holding back tears.

Erika Kirk said in her remarks that the “greatest cause in Charlie’s life was trying to revive the American family.”

“When he spoke to young people, he was always eager to tell them about God’s vision for marriage and how if they could just dare to live it out, it would enrich every part of their life in the same way that it enriched ours,” she said.

She then shared personal stories of their marriage, saying she was his “closest and most trusted adviser, his best friend.”
