The Secret Service has got to do a better job.
Period!
On Wednesday, the Secret Service announced that it suffered a security breach at President Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia.
In the announcement, the Secret Service revealed a member of the golf club brought a loaded handgun into the club while President Trump was on-site.
Newsweek provided a more in-depth report on the security breach:
The U.S. Secret Service has acknowledged a security breach after a member of the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, carried a loaded semiautomatic handgun into the facility while President Donald Trump was on-site.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the U.S. Secret Service said the weapon—identified as a Glock—was not detected during a manual bag search conducted with handheld magnetometers on August 31.
Although the club member who carried the loaded handgun into Trump National Golf Club last month self-reported the weapon and never came near the president, the lapse underscores persistent concerns about the Secret Service’s ability to safeguard the president.
Along with the assassination of Charlie Kirk—the conservative activist and prominent Trump ally who was fatally shot on Wednesday at a public event in Utah—the Trump National Golf Club incident highlights growing vulnerabilities in how security is managed, raises deeper questions about various security agency’s operational readiness in a climate of political violence and threatens public confidence in these agencies’ protective missions.
The Secret Service has launched an internal review into the screening failure on August 31, and the employee responsible for searching the guest’s bag has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of that review, the agency said.
In a statement shared with Newsweek, the Secret Service said video surveillance indicated that the guest never came into close physical proximity with the president while on the premises.

Earlier in the week, the Secret Service came under fire again after an organized group of protesters interrupted Trump’s visit to a D.C. seafood restaurant.
Take a look:
In light of Charlie Kirk's death, it's worth pointing out that just last night, far-left Code Pink extremists got within a few feet of Trump
There were knives on the table in between them. Who knows what else they could have had on them

Yahoo News reported on the incident and provided comments from Convseravtives furious about the Secret Service allowing this to happen:
As President Donald Trump made a rare public dining stop in Washington, D.C., late Tuesday, he was confronted with an unwanted surprise.
Videos circulating on social media show Trump coming face to face with protesters at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab, which is less than a quarter mile away from the White House.
Before entering the restaurant, Trump was first heckled by chants of “Free Palestine” as he briefly answered questions from reporters on the street. He then was met by a group on the inside, who continued to shout “Free D.C.,” “free Palestine” and “Trump is the Hitler of our time.”
“What do you want your legacy to be?” a protester could be heard shouting in one video.
CODEPINK, a feminist grassroots organization, claimed credit for the demonstration in posts on its social media accounts. On X, the group attached a video that shows Trump walking toward the protesters — one who is recording — and appearing to smirk. He then gestures for them to leave several times, before they are escorted out of the restaurant.
Some of Trump’s most ardent supporters questioned how the president came in such close proximity to demonstrators.
ADVERTISEMENTRep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) asked on X, “Did someone leak the President’s location to the organization that showed up to protest him?”
“Where was Secret Service and was there someone in Secret Service that leaked his location? This needs to be looked into,” she added.
Far-right activist Laura Loomer, dubbed as a “Trump whisperer,” said that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) “almost became US PRESIDENT.”
“POTUS could have been assassinated tonight,“ she claimed. ”They could have stabbed him or shot him.”
