SO SAD: Bruce Willis Transferred To Special Care Facility As Dementia Worsens

Time truly is undefeated…and it seems like it’s speeding up at an incredible rate.

It feels like just yesterday we were watching Bruce Willis walking across that broken glass to save Nakatomi Plaza from Hans Gruber’s terrorist takeover in one of the greatest Christmas movies to ever be made.

Bruce Willis was iconic and had dozens of other iconic roles across his storied career.

In my head he’s still that 4-year old badass movie star, but time catches us all and Willis is now 70 and suffering from advanced dementia.

According to reports, he no longer even recognizes his family.

The NY Post reports that the specialized care facility is more like a “second house” and also that Willis’ dementia has been progressing rapidly from first diagnosis in 2023:

Bruce Willis’ wife has gone to great lengths to help him in his dementia battle.

Emma Heming Willis did a sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer that aired Tuesday night and revealed her famous husband, 70, is living in a “second home” nearby so he can get 24-hour care.

“It was one of the hardest decisions that I’ve had to make so far,” Emma, 47, said in the ABC special. “But I knew, first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters.”

“You know, he would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs,” Emma added.

Emma noted that her and Willis’ daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, see their dad “a lot” at the house, including for breakfast and dinner visits.

Willis — who also shares daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, with ex-wife Demi Moore — was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.

The neurological disorder mainly affects the areas of the brain that are associated with personality, behavior and language, according to the Mayo Clinic.

During the special, Emma revealed that the “Die Hard” actor’s brain “is failing him.”

Awful to see.

Here’s to looking back on better times:

Here was our first report on this from back in 2022 when the diagnosis at that time was aphasi:

Bruce Willis Steps Away from Acting Due to Aphasia, Loss of Ability to Speak & Understand Speech; Aphasia Linked to 2nd Dose of Covid Vaccine

Bruce Willis' family has announced that the actor will step away from acting due to health complications.

The famed actor was diagnosed with aphasia, which is the neurological loss of the ability to understand speech and to speak clearly.

While the family has not mentioned the COVID-19 vaccine, it's important to note that aphasia has been linked to the second dose of the vaccine.

According to the NIH:

Though rare, neurological side effects of SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations are increasingly reported. Even if the first dosage goes uncomplicated, the second dose may be complicated by severe adverse reactions as in the following case.

A 52yo male developed sudden-onset reading difficulty and aphasia 7d after the second dose of an mRNA-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. He had a previous history of myocardial infarction, arterial hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and nephrolithiasis. Blood pressure was slightly elevated on admission. Blood tests revealed mildly elevated D-dimer, pre-diabetes and hyperuricemia. Cerebral magnetic resonance imaging revealed an intracerebral bleeding (ICB) in the left temporal lobe. Aphasia resolved almost completely within a few days. Blood pressure values were normal throughout hospitalisation. Whether there was a causal relation between the ICB and the vaccination remains speculative but cannot be definitively excluded.

A second dose of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccination may be followed by ICB. Though the pathophysiology of ICB remains unexplained a causal relation between ICB and the vaccination cannot be excluded. Risk factors for ICB should be carefully monitored in patients undergoing SARS-CoV-2 vaccination.

To be clear, this does NOT mean that Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia due to the vaccine.

However, the timing and suddenness of this announcement has many people wondering what is going on, as more and more high profile celebrities and politicians are suddenly being diagnosed with serious illnesses.

This appears to be a permanent retirement.

Given the condition, Bruce Willis will likely never return to acting or the spotlight.

According to People Magazine:

Bruce Willis is retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia.

The 67-year-old actor's family shared the news on Instagram Wednesday, writing alongside a photo of him on their Instagram feeds, "To Bruce's amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities."

"As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him," the caption added.

According to Mayo Clinic, aphasia "is a condition that robs you of the ability to communicate. It can affect your ability to speak, write and understand language, both verbal and written." The group adds that the condition "typically occurs suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative)."

Bruce's family's Instagram posts went on to say that it "is a really challenging time" for them all, "and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support."

Of course, don't be surprised if the fact checkers come out to "fact check" this article.

Again, we are not saying that this was the result of the COVID vaccine.

However, it is a question worth asking, as the NIH itself is confirming that this is a possible side effect.

Bruce Willis is one of the largest movie stars.

He has been in at least 125 films, including Die Hard, The Sixth Sense, and Armageddon.

This career spans numerous decades and various genres of film.

His work will be missed by the entertainment industry.
