Kamala Harris Is Selling A New Book About Her Losing Presidential Campaign

Talk about a grift.

One thing remains consistent: the sun will come out every day, and Democrats will release a book after losing a campaign.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has announced she is releasing a new memoir about her losing presidential campaign.

The book announcement comes a day after she revealed she would not run for governor of California.

NBC News provided more details on the new book:

Former Vice President Kamala Harris announced Thursday that she is releasing a memoir about her failed 2024 presidential campaign, which was launched just over one year ago.

“It was intense, high stakes and deeply personal for me and for so many of you,” she said in a video posted to X. “Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days, talking with my team, my family, my friends, and pulling my thoughts together. In essence, writing a journal that is this book, ‘107 Days.'”

The memoir will recount her brief campaign stretch after then-President Joe Biden bowed out of the race with just months to go before the election, launching the Democratic Party into unprecedented territory.

“With candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind-the-scenes account of that journey,” she said. “I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what I know it will take to move forward.”

The announcement comes as Democrats — out of power in the White House, House and Senate — look to regain support amid polling that indicates that public perception of the party remains largely negative.

The day before announcing her memoir, Harris said she would not run for governor in California. NBC News reported that two sources close to Harris said she was looking to keep an option open to run for president again 2028.

The Hill shared more details on Biden’s book deal:

The publisher of former President Biden’s forthcoming memoir reportedly paid around a $10 million advance for the book.

Hachette Book Group paid the roughly $10 million figure to Biden for the book to be published by its Little, Brown & Co., The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Creative Artists Agency, which represents Biden, declined ITK’s requests for comment, while the publisher did not immediately respond.

Other presidential memoirs have also meant big pay days for former first families.

In 2017, a bidding war for the global rights to two books from former President Obama and Michelle Obama reportedly topped $60 million.
