UPDATE: Astronomer CEO Resigns After Getting Caught On Cold Play Kiss Cam

Actions always have consequences.

Earlier in the week, CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot of Astronomer were caught on Coldplay’s kiss cam together despite Byron already being married.

Byron and Cabot would have probably gotten away with their sneaky affair; however, when the kiss cam spotlighted them, their panicked reaction went instantly viral.

Now it has been revealed Byron has resigned as the CEO of Astronomer.

Fox Business had more details to report on the resignation:

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who was caught by a Coldplay concert Jumbotron cozying up with his company’s head of human resources, has resigned following the incident, according to the company.

“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” the company wrote in a statement Saturday to Fox News. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

Astronomer said Byron tendered his resignation, and the board of directors accepted.

The unspecified relationship between Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot was revealed to the nation when they were spotted by the concert’s “Kiss Cam.”

Cabot briskly turned and covered her face, while Byron awkwardly ducked behind a stadium seat, catching Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin’s gaze.

“Oh, look at these two,” Martin joked to the crowd. “All right, c’mon, you’re Ok. Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Newsweek provided more context to the viral video:

Experts have described the viral moment between Byron and Cabot, which has amassed more than 45 million views on TikTok and millions more across different platforms, as having all the ingredients of a modern scandal.

“What makes the perfect viral moment in 2025 is the trifecta: emotional charge and status drama and ambiguity,” Natalie Trice, publicist and founder of Natalie Trice Publicity, previously told Newsweek.

The public scrutiny and Astronomer’s swift response reflects increasing demand for accountability among top executives, particularly when personal conduct intersects with workplace dynamics. The situation has also fueled broader conversations about privacy, social media exposure, and the boundaries between personal and professional life.

Byron led data infrastructure startup Astronomer from July 2023 until his resignation.

The drama began on Wednesday when a jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, captured Byron hugging Cabot, Astronomer’s chief people officer, from behind. Once they realized they were on the “kiss cam,” the pair quickly sprang apart with Cabot covering her face.

“Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin remarked to the crowd.

Following the incident, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly changed her Facebook profile name before deactivating the account, which had been inundated by comments regarding the viral footage.

Cabot joined Astronomer in November 2024 and Byron had previously commended her for “exceptional leadership and deep expertise” in the company’s official announcements.

Neither Byron nor Cabot have publicly commented on the incident.
