Yet another example of pro-illegal immigrant activists targeting ICE agents played out this week in California, prompting a scathing rebuke from White House border czar Tom Homan.
The incident occurred near a marijuana farm in the Golden State and involved protesters reportedly throwing rocks and possibly even discharging a firearm in the direction of the border officers tasked with enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.
Several similarly disturbing scenes have been reported elsewhere across the state and in other mostly deep-blue areas of the country in recent years.
As the New York Post reported, Homan is increasingly worried about the safety of those ICE agents who put their lives at risk to carry out their duties:
“What happened in California is just another example of protesters becoming criminals, and they’ve been emboldened by even members of Congress who compare ICE to Nazis and racists and terrorists,” Homan said on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning.
“I said months ago, it’s going to end up with a loss of life — and we had one the other day in Texas, and it’s not over,” he said, referencing the gunman who opened fire on border patrol agents walking into work in McAllen Monday.
Immigration agents who descended on Glass House Farms in the city of Camarillo — one of the biggest cannabis farms in Southern California — were met by dozens of demonstrators gathered on a road between fields where the uniformed officers stood in a line across from them.
The anti-ICE rhetoric has become commonplace not only at sites where raids are being carried out, but across social media.
Here’s a very brief sampling of the Nazi comparisons Homan mentioned in his rebuke:
Unless Americans summon the courage to stop Trump and his fascist ICE Nazis, this little girl might have to. 😳👇 pic.twitter.com/QrOYo9bnqR

The rhetoric from politicians and the media comparing ICE to the Nazi Gestapo has led to a nearly 700% increase in assaults against ICE personnel.

If you missed the initial reports from the clash at the California pot farm, here’s a recap from Fox News:
At the cannabis facility, investigators found nine unaccompanied migrant children, Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital on Friday, updating earlier reporting that eight such children were there. She added, “So glad our law enforcement could rescue another child.” Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott said Thursday the facility was “under investigation for child labor violations.”
ADVERTISEMENTHe posted a photo to X on Friday afternoon captioned: “These are the juveniles found in the marijuana facility – almost all unaccompanied, one as young as 14. California are you ready to partner with us to stop child exploitation?”
People were seen confronting the agents, who used tear gas and smoke bombs. Federal personnel used gas to push back protesters who arrived on scene after getting word of a raid.
Military helicopters were also seen flying low over the fields, a maneuver generally used to flush out people hiding.
“It is becoming increasingly apparent that the actions taken by ICE are bold and aggressive, demonstrating insensitivity towards the direct impact on our community,” Luis Mc Arthur, the mayor of nearby Oxnard, said in a social media post. “These actions are causing unnecessary distress and harm. I remain committed to working alongside our Attorney General and the Governor’s office to explore potential legal avenues to address these activities.”
Here’s a clip of Homan’s recent remarks:
