Last week, California Sen. Alex Padilla was detained after barging into a press conference and rushing DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Democrats cried foul, and now, it appears that Padilla is trying to milk the sympathy for all it’s worth.
Today, he started crying on the Senate floor while talking about his ‘traumatic’ experience.

So, let’s recap: this Senator — who, by the way, was appointed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom to replace Kamala Harris’s seat — barges into a press conference without a pass, rushes a member of President Trump’s cabinet, then gets physical with Secret Service.

Senator Alex Padilla ignored Secret Service commands, rushed a live press event without ID, and triggered a Secret Service response.
Padilla wasn’t targeted. He acted like a threat and got treated like one.

Now, he’s whining and sobbing about it on the Senate floor.
Oh, boohoo.
Cry me a river.
After the incident, Noem and the White House called it like it was.
From The Hill:
Noem said Padilla’s behavior at the press conference “wasn’t appropriate.” White House officials backed his detainment.
ADVERTISEMENT“I think everybody in America would agree that that wasn’t appropriate. That if you wanted to have a civil discussion, especially as a leader, a public official, that you would reach out and try to have a conversation,” Noem told reporters during the press conference.
The White House shared a statement defending the senator’s removal.
“Padilla didn’t want answers; he wanted attention. Padilla embarrassed himself and his constituents with this immature, theater-kid stunt — but it’s telling that Democrats are more riled up about Padilla than they are about the violent riots and assaults on law enforcement in LA,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Hill after the incident.
Padilla’s sob story is garnering a lot of attention on social media…
But probably not in the way he wanted.
