Critics Blast Olympic Gold Medalist For Calling Riley Gaines ‘Sick,’ ‘Bully’

Few public figures have been more outspoken on behalf of protecting female athletes than Riley Gaines, a swimmer who became an activist after she was forced to compete against — and share a locker room with — a biological male who identified as transgender.

While Gaines has received an outpouring of support from other female athletes, some others remain under the influence of leftist ideologues who insist there is no inherent difference between the two sexes.

Following a recent post about a Minnesota girls’ softball team that won with the help of a biological male player, Gaines received a rhetorical attack from Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles.

Breitbart covered the ensuing social media back-and-forth:

“Comments off lol,” said Gaines as she reposted the team photo. “To be expected when your star player is a boy.”

Simone Biles later responded by calling Gaines a “bully” and a “sore loser” while demanding she fight for sports to be more inclusive.

“You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser,” she said. “You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!! But instead… You bully them… One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!”

Riley Gaines called Biles’ attack “disappointing.”

“This is actually so disappointing. It’s not my job or the job of any woman to figure out how to include men in our spaces. You can uplift men stealing championships in women’s sports with YOUR platform. Men don’t belong in women’s sports, and I say that with my full chest,” she responded.

The responses to Biles’ taunts revealed that an overwhelming number of X users vehemently disagree with her take:

Another prominent female athlete also took a swipe at the pro-trans ideology following an incident at an Oregon high school, per Fox News:

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova reacted to two Oregon high school athletes who refused to stand with a transgender athlete following the girls’ high jump state championships on Saturday.

Reese Eckard, of Sherwood High School, and Alexa Anderson, of Tigard High School, stepped down from the podium and refused to share the spot with the transgender athlete who finished in fifth place. Anderson finished in third and Eckard in fourth.

Footage obtained by Fox News Digital showed an official confronting Eckard and Anderson.

“Women and girls are punished no matter what they do in this misogynistic world…” Navratilova wrote on X.

She added that “Feminists never asked for this. At least not the great majority of us… never.”
