The hip-hop community has shown President Donald Trump a great deal of respect, particularly in light of his willingness to pardon a few of the genre’s biggest names.
But when it comes to Diddy, the disgraced rap icon currently on trial for a series of sordid charges, the idea of a pardon doesn’t sit well with at least one prominent artist.
Curtis Jackson, known by his stage name 50 Cent, has praised Trump in the past and signaled that he doesn’t think Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, will receive a presidential pardon.
According to The Hill:
50 Cent criticized Combs in a Friday post on Instagram, claiming he has “said some really bad things about Trump.”
“I’m gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy,” the “In Da Club” rapper added, saying he would contact Trump about Combs.
He doubled down in a subsequent Instagram post, writing that Trump “doesn’t take well to disrespect.”
“He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy,” 50 Cent added.
Of course, 50 Cent’s track record of disparaging Diddy dates back much further than those recent statements:
LOL.. 50 Cent just posted this about Diddy.

And some others think Diddy will end up being pardoned in the end.
Former Death Row Records CEO and current prison inmate Marion “Suge” Knight recently weighed in on the case, as Billboard reported:
And while Knight managed to work in on one of his long-held complaints about how camera-loving Combs conducted his business as a label boss at Bad Boy — “I believe that as an executive or a record label owner, you supposed to make them the star. Once you start trying to be the star, that’s when the problem come in” — in the end he thinks his one-time enemy will walk free.
“I don’t feel that the prosecution wanted that bad, because a lot of stuff they had on him, they left out. It don’t seem like they really coming down hard at them,” Knight said about his opinion of the prosecution’s laying out of their case so far. “If he get convicted — if Puffy get convicted, Trump’s going to pardon him,” Knight predicted. “Trump is a president that stands up and do what he wants to do, and he’s going to do what he feels is best. So Puffy has nothing to worry about.”
