This just in: The United States and Ukraine have both officially signed President Trump’s mineral deal.
The mineral deal will give the U.S. access to valuable, rare earth minerals in Ukraine in exchange for help negotiating peace with Russia.

Thanks to @POTUS @realDonaldTrump’s tireless efforts to secure a lasting peace, I am glad to announce the signing of today’s historic economic partnership agreement between the United States and Ukraine establishing the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund to help accelerate Ukraine’s economic recovery. Economic security is national security.@DFCgov will work closely with the Government of Ukraine to establish this fund, and we look forward to quickly operationalizing this historic economic partnership for both the Ukrainian and American people.

Ukraine has signed a deal with the United States, giving the U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare minerals as it continues to work with the Trump administration in an effort to end its three-year war with Russia.
Ukrainian Economy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko flew to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday to help finalize the deal.

The U.S. and Ukraine have signed the deal to create the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund — the long-awaited mineral deal that gives the U.S. rights to Ukrainian rare earth, both sides announced Wednesday.
“This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a press release. “President Trump envisioned this partnership between the American people and the Ukrainian people to show both sides’ commitment to lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine. And to be clear, no state or person who financed or supplied the Russian war machine will be allowed to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine.”
Ukrainian Minister of the Economy Yulia Svyrydenko said in a post on X, “Together with the United States, we are creating the Fund that will attract global investment into our country.”
In a video discussing the deal posted on X, Bessent gave more details about the deal.
“This partnership allows the United States to invest alongside Ukraine to unlock Ukraine’s growth assets, mobilize American talent, capital and governance standards that will improve Ukraine’s investment climate and accelerate Ukraine’s economic recovery,” Bessent said in the video.
