I just realized that since we have such a wide readership, there’s a chance lots of you have unclaimed money.
So I thought I’d write this up to let you know, and I pray this is the biggest article of the day and it blesses lot of people.
This is for you, loyal reader!
You ever lose a $20 bill in your jeans and find it months later in the dryer?
Imagine that, but instead of $20, it’s your state holding your money hostage, hoping you don’t notice.
Yep. Turns out, a whole bunch of you have unclaimed cash just sitting there with your state government.
Refunds, (even from old jobs) rebates, insurance claims, old bank accounts, security deposits, you name it.
If you don’t get it, the government will take it:
In an *expected* turn of events, the state house majority approved to PULL $50 MILLION from the UNCLAIMED PROPERTY TRUST FUND to fund this bill. Since 2003, they have pulled over $663 MILLION from the UPTF, bringing the total to, now, over $700 MILLION. pic.twitter.com/lNWPpz4IMG

It’s like the treasure chest in a game that you forgot to open as you raced toward your main goal.
The good news? You just gotta check.
I did this for a few friends and found that they had a few hundred dollars just lying there, they just had to click on “claim it” (I should’ve asked for a finder’s fee, dang it!)
And it looks like others are recently talking about it, great timing!
💰 The State Treasurer's Office has more than $470 million worth of unclaimed property listings in its database.
Treasurer Pack spoke to @WTRF7NEWS during a recent visit to Wheeling, where he presented the city with an unclaimed property check of nearly $20,000. pic.twitter.com/PcsK72Mmlu

So go on, search your name.
Search your grandma’s name.
Search your parent’s names.
Search your pastor’s names.
You might not get rich, but hey, free lunch is free lunch.
Your state might owe you.
Time to make ‘em pay up.
So find out if your state is hoarding your hard-earned dough.
Here’s what California’s site looks like.
You’d click on “SEARCH UNCLAIMED PROPERTY” on the site.
And then enter your name. That’s it.

This list of government websites was populated by ChatGPT, so they should all work.
If not, since there’s a lot of changes occurring in government with DOGE and all, do a search for:
