BREAKING: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem ROBBED While Dining at Restaurant

This is frightening.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was robbed by a masked thief while dining at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. last night.

The robber stole her purse, which contained $3,000 in cash she had withdrawn to treat her family for Easter, her DHS badge, driver’s license, and passport, among other valuable belongings.

The suspect is an unidentified white male who was wearing a medical mask.

Secret Service says they are investigating the incident.

But, I have to ask: how on earth was this allowed to happen?

Despite Noem being under the protection of Secret Service, somehow, this criminal individual not only slipped through the detail but made off his Noem’s purse.

This is either a case of gross incompetence or something fishy happened here…

BREAKING: DHS CHIEF KRISTI NOEM ROBBED BY MASKED MAN IN DC RESTAURANT!

“How the heck does this happen?! Where was the Secret Service?”

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was robbed Sunday night in a DC restaurant. A masked man snatched her purse with $3,000 cash, passport, and DHS badge. “The Secret Service… saw an unknown white male wearing a medical mask steal her bag,” CNN reported. The thief escaped with her valuables.

Noem, under Secret Service protection, lost her driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, blank checks, and makeup bag. The Secret Service is investigating, reviewing footage showing the suspect fleeing. “The thief got away with… about $3,000 in cash,” per CNN, highlighting a bold security breach.

The incident raises concerns about safety in the capital, as Noem, a key Trump cabinet member, was targeted. The Gateway Pundit calls it an “appalling security breach.” The investigation continues, with no resolution yet, as Noem confirmed at the White House Easter Egg Roll Monday.

Fox News reported:

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse was stolen with thousands in cash on Sunday night at a restaurant in Washington D.C., multiple sources from the agency confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The purse was taken by a White man wearing a mask, and the bag contained $3,000 in cash as well as personal documents including her passport, keys, driver’s license and a DHS badge, an agency spokesperson confirmed.

“Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren – she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts,” the spokesperson said.

Crime in the capital city continues to be a major issue, including theft. When it comes to violent crime, it hit a 30-year low last year, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office at the time.

CBS News added more details on Secret Service’s investigation into the crime:

The Secret Service is reviewing security camera footage at the restaurant and has identified a White male suspect who was allegedly wearing a medical mask during the theft. The individual was not immediately spotted by her Secret Service detail, with the bag being discovered lost by Noem herself.

Noem was dining at The Capital Burger, a popular and busy locale near DC’s downtown. Her purse was placed against her foot underneath her seat, according to two sources familiar.

Noem’s cell phone was not in the purse, but credit cards, makeup and medication were among the items stolen.

The Secret Service has launched an investigation to hunt down the individual responsible. The investigation will include using security footage shared by the restaurant and items stolen to attempt to trace the alleged perpetrator. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in keeping with her predecessors, receives 24/7 Secret Service protection, and members of her detail were stationed at the restaurant at the time of the incident, according to multiple law enforcement officials.
