Joe Rogan Mercilessly Mocks Katy Perry And All-Woman Space Trip: ‘It Was Very Profound’

The Blue Origin space flight packed with famous, wealthy women was not the empowering statement its organizers might have hoped.

Singer Katy Perry and others aboard the spaceship have faced mounting criticism for the seemingly self-indulgent act by exceptionally privileged women.

One of the group’s most vocal critics has been podcaster Joe Rogan, who delivered a scathing assessment during a recent episode with his guest, comedian Tim Dillon.

As the New York Post reported:

“Hey Tim Dillion, I’m much better now that the ladies are back from space, thank you,” Rogan said at the beginning of his podcast released Saturday.

“It was very profound. I don’t know if you’ve seen Katy Perry talk about it, but she’s basically a guru now,” he said.

Last Monday, Perry rode alongside former NASA engineer Aisha Bowe, astronaut Amanda Nguyễn, CBS morning host Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and the billionaire’s fiancée Lauren Sánchez.

Rogan mocked Perry for bringing up a daisy with her during her trip, which she flashed to the cameras as the crew floated around the capsule.

“She brought a daisy, which is super important. It shows you how quick the flight was,” Rogan said. “The dead daisy that’s like snipped from its life source was still alive or still vibrant.”

Perry brought the “simple flower” with her as a tribute to her daughter, Daisy, and a symbolic gesture.

“Daisies are common flowers, but they grow through every condition,” Perry said after the flight, calling them “resilient.”

The mission marked the 104th woman to travel past the Karman Line, the internationally recognized edge of space, before returning to Blue Origin’s Texas facility for a total flight of 11 minutes.

Rogan laid into the historic crew, comparing their training to the process other space travelers had to endure.

“Let’s celebrate female astronauts because a lot of men astronauts, they have to go to school, they have to learn to be a pilot first, then they have to join the Air Force or the Navy and then get appointed by NASA,” Rogan said.

Others have piled on Perry and the rest of the women in recent days:

The fast food chain Wendy’s, known for its provocative social media presence, has also gotten in on the action, per USA Today:

The fast-food chain, known for its salty fries and social media posts, walked back its earlier shade aimed at the “E.T.” singer after posting “Can we send her back” after the star’s appearance on a Blue Origin flight on April 14.

Perry fans slammed the sassy social media post, which came after popular account Pop Crave posted on X that Perry “returned from space,” but Wendy’s clarified the comments in statements to entertainment outlets.

“We always bring a little spice to our socials, but Wendy’s has a ton of respect for Katy Perry and her out-of-this-world-talent,” reps for Wendy’s told Entertainment Weekly and People. USA TODAY reached out to reps for Perry and Wendy’s for comment.

However, Wendy’s stopped short of a full apology.

The singer, along with several other members of a star-studded, all-female crew, blasted off as part of Blue Origin’s latest space mission, taking off and landing successfully. Perry put her pop star duties on hold to explore the outer orbit for 11 minutes.
