Mia Love, the first Black Republican woman elected to the U.S. Congress, died on Sunday.
The former U.S. Representative of Utah was 49.
In a post on X, Love’s family wrote, “With grateful hearts filled to overflowing for the profound influence of Mia on our lives, we want you to know that she passed away peacefully.”
Love was previously diagnosed with brain cancer.
