Border Mayor Opposes President Trump’s Mass Deportation Policy

The closer we get to Jan. 20th, the more we will see some Republicans showing their true self, and pushing back against President Trump.

Take note of them.

For this story we have Javier Villalobos, the mayor of McAllen, Texas.

He expressed that he’s against mass deportation.

He’s LITERALLY a mayor of a city next to the border.

His city is 85-90% Hispanic.

Is he worried that he might lose a large percent of his voters?

He says the economy won’t survive without immigrants and that they are better workers than Americans.

I think it’s time for this mayor to step down.

And never forget, Democrats need these immigrants because they mainly vote Democrat.

So they’re going to lose voters, meaning they’ll lose power.

And we all know how they react to that.

Newsweek reports:

A Republican mayor on the U.S.-Mexico border has voiced concerns over the potential economic effects of President-elect Donald Trump’s flagship mass deportation policy.

Javier Villalobos, the mayor of McAllen, Texas, recently told ABC affiliate WFAA that mass deportations would create issues with the American economy.

Newsweek contacted Villalobos for further comment via email outside normal office hours.

Why It Matters
A key aspect of Trump’s immigration policy is the removal of millions of undocumented immigrants.

However, lawmakers and business leaders have expressed concerns over the consequences the policy may have on the economy.

Almost half of the agricultural workforce in the U.S. consists of undocumented immigrants, according to the Department of Agriculture, so Trump’s contentious mass deportation plan presents significant challenges for the nation’s farmers.

Mayor Javier Villalobos of McAllen, Texas, told WFAA: “The work ethic of the American people is not what it used to be. And a lot of the time, these immigrants are the ones that assist. And I’ve seen it over and over again … I have also always said that we need immigrants, that we need people to come and support their families and assist our economy.”

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s incoming White House press secretary, told Newsweek: “President Trump will enlist every federal power and coordinate with state authorities to institute the largest deportation operation of illegal criminals, drug dealers, and human traffickers in American history, while simultaneously lowering costs for families and strengthening our workforce.

“The American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail, like deporting migrant criminals and restoring our economic greatness. He will deliver.”

Joseba Martinez, a macro- and financial economist at London Business School, told Newsweek: “Deportations don’t make sense as economic policy, and attempts to pitch deportation as redistributive policy are totally disingenuous.

So Joseba Martinez is against deportations too?

He doesn’t happen to know anyone that’s here illegally, does he?

Here’s a question worth considering, if the President decided to kick out all anti-American Communist-supporting Chinese immigrants, do you think our mayors and governors that are Chinese will go along with it?

Or would they protect their own kin?

It’s important who we vote into position of power.

This mayor has always been about bringing over immigrants, and I’m not talking about people from Norway, Sweden and Italy.

We’re talking Mexico.

He says “they’re better workers”.

Maybe Villalobos is trying to avoid investigation…
