We all knew it would happen again.
It was never about “safety” — that was just the excuse.
The “mandates” (aka ROYAL EDICTS) went way beyond practical safety measures.
It was always about obedience, and finding out who would tow the line…
And who wouldn’t.
Surprise, surprise; guess where mask mandates just became “normal” once again?
Mask mandates returning to several Bay Area counties

That’s right; multiple municipalities in the San Francisco Bay area have mandated masks in certain settings — through the SPRING OF 2025!
Am I the only one that thinks this looks like just advanced preparations for post-election chaos???
Here’s a quick video report on the new mandates from a local Fox affiliate in the Bay area:
Mask Mandates Returning to Several Bay Area Counties

A local report from the same KTVU News outlet listed 5 counties in the area that have reinstated the mask requirements. According to the outlet, the mandates become effective November 1st. (Gotta love that pre-election timing!)
Mask mandates are returning to health care settings in several Bay Area counties as an increase in COVID-19 cases overlaps with the cold and flu season.
The local health orders require masks to be worn in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other healthcare facilities. The story was first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Napa counties have reinstated the mask requirements.
The mandates become effective Nov. 1 and will continue through the end of March or April 2025.
As you would expect, not everyone is “happy” about the return to draconian times. I have a feeling that the majority of use just assume since they’ve already played that card… we won’t REALLY see it come up in the deck again.
And we would be wrong — because we also forget that the ones dealing the cards are playing with a trick deck, and they have cards to spare up their sleeves! (Not to mention they like to deal off the bottom of the deck!)

You won't believe this (maybe you will), but mask mandates are back in certain counties in California.
This takes affect Nov 1 – Spring, 2025.
How do they continue to get away with this? Because people comply. pic.twitter.com/vrfvR1YTUW

“How do they continue to get away with this?”, asked David J Harris Jr in the above post to X.com… and then he answered his own questions:
“Because people comply.” Are you familiar with the phrase, “Become ungovernable”?
I don’t think nearly enough of us are, or this wouldn’t keep happening.
The primary point (excuse…) being used to justify the newest mandates is to limit the spread of flu and other viruses, according to The Center Square, which also has a story on the return of the mandates:
The new mandate was put into effect to limit the spread of the flu and other viruses during the late fall to early spring flu season, with some counties opting to end the requirement in March and others in April of 2025. The orders only apply to healthcare workers except for Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, which are also requiring visitors to wear masks; in Santa Clara, patients must also wear masks.
These mask mandates come as the 10-campus University of California system banned masks to conceal identity, and Los Angeles Mayor Kare Bass reportedly considered a similar mask ban until she recently contracted COVID-19.
California had the third-longest COVID-19 mask mandate in the nation, ending only on March 1, with only Hawaii and Washington lifting their mandates after.
California is re-instating mask mandates…..

I believe Mindy MF Robinson who responded to the mandates in the above post got her descriptor perfectly and technically correct.
But let me take you back to the beginning of the year, and remind you that there is an alternative view on how to handle the mandating of masks at a local level — particularly when it goes (as it always does…) into the realm of forcing kids in school to mask up:
WATCH: President Trump gets a thunderous applause at his rally in Iowa after saying he won’t give one penny to any school that has a mask or vaccine mandate!

So… here it comes again. I’m sure it will be a “limited” mandate. Just like it was “two weeks to flatten the curve”… right? Right.
In the meantime, the rest of us will be fixated on that soon-to-come day when there is a leader in the White House who has committed to NEVER allowing local authorities to terrorize their citizens with mask mandates ever again!
I hate tyranny. But there’s always a silver lining when tyrants raise their ugly heads. And in this case… that silver lining is the wake-up call to all the rest of us: they’re not done trying.
And we’d better be prepared for a fight.
