CYBERATTACK: US Largest WATER Supplier Hit, 14 States Compromised


Our food has been under constant attack.

Now the crosshairs of our enemy are on our water.

American Water Works, the country’s largest drinking water supplier, just got hacked.

The New Jersey-based company, which keeps the taps flowing for over 14 million people across 14 states had to pull the plug.

This was done on certain systems to stop the damage.

With investigations underway, the company’s scrambling to figure out just how deep the breach runs.

One can’t help but wonder if something like this will be tied to an October surprise.

American Water Works, the US’s largest supplier of drinking water said its computer system was hacked.

The New Jersey-based company provides drinking water to more than 14 million people across 14 states.

American Water Works in also on 18 US military installations.

“In an effort to protect our customers’ data and to prevent any further harm to our environment, we disconnected or deactivated certain systems. There will be no late charges for customers while these systems are unavailable,” an American Water spokesperson told CBS News. The company is “working around the clock to investigate the nature and scope of the incident,” the spokesperson added.
