WAS IT RIGGED? Former CLINTON ADVISER Calls for Investigation into ABC News!

You never know these days where the voice of common sense might come from.  Today, it seems to be coming from Mark Penn — former adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton!

WONDERS NEVER CEASE!

Quite frankly, Mark Penn makes the best case I’ve heard so far for something to be done about the blatant heavy-handed tactics of the ABC News moderators.  First, here’s a clip of Mark on with Fox News talking about it today:

It doesn’t take a former presidential advisor to recognize how imbalanced and agenda-driven the ABC moderators were.  We all watched the obvious bias take shape for all to see.

Mark Penn is not simply restating the obvious — he is calling for an investigation!  He wants an examination of internal ABC News emails and communications!  Here is the Daily Caller reporting on the specifics:

“I’m really concerned about what ABC did. When the refs put their finger on the scale, you’ve gotta throw out the score of the game,” Penn told Fox News host Harris Faulkner. “What would have happened in that debate had they challenged Harris and said ‘you know, that’s not right what you said there about Charlottesville.’ We don’t know how she would have reacted, and then Trump wouldn’t have had to spend all his time on the [defensive]. I think they did a real disservice to the voters of America when they did that and they put in jeopardy the institutions of debate.”

While Harris made multiple misstatements during the debate, including about abortion and Project 2025, according to Check Your Fact, Muir and Davis did not interrupt or “fact check” her during the debate.

Mark went into more detail during an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast, imagining how differently things could have turned out after the infamous Trump-Biden debate if the moderators had behaved the same way as they did in the Trump-Harris debate.  Would Biden have been considered the winner?

“Let’s imagine in that Biden debate in June that those moderators had acted like ABC and let’s say they interrupted Trump three or four times and said, ‘you know, that’s a lie.’ Biden might not have dropped out, Biden might have been perceived to be the winner of that debate, or at least good enough in that debate, but in that case, the moderators let the two of them have a fair debate, and the public was able to make a a fair conclusion that Biden really wasn’t, certainly wasn’t up to a second term, let alone the first term.”

That’s a terrible outcome to imagine — what if the moderators had covered for Biden to the point that his true health situation and cognitive function wouldn’t have been so apparent when he debated Trump?  But turn that around, and allow yourself to wonder: is that exactly what just happened during the last debate?  Is that EXACTLY what we just saw happen?  Did the ABC debate moderators successfully cover up Kamala’s ineptitude?

I think so.  But Mark Penn, former Clinton advisor, seems to think so as well!

Here’s Just The News with a little more insight into Mark Penn’s argument on finding out if that ABC News debate was truly rigged beyond mere bias:

Anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis moderated the first debate between Harris and Trump, which drew 67.1 million viewers, making it the most watched presidential debate since 2008. But it has drawn scorn from both Republicans and Democrats for giving the appearance of bias.

“I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm. I don’t know how much of this was planned in advance,” Penn told the “John Solomon Reports” podcast.

“I don’t know what they told the Harris campaign. I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate. I think the situation demands nothing less than that,” he added.

That is the problem.  The bias of the ABC News debate moderators was so obvious that the question demands to be answered: was it simple bias (which is bad enough!), or was there actual collusion between ABC and the Harris campaign leading up to the debate?

The high-profile call from Mark Penn for exposing the true nature of the ABC News debate is a first of it’s kind, that I can tell.  Considering the groundswell of sentiment against ABC News since the debate aired on Tuesday, I have a feeling we might be about to see a “come to Jesus” moment for ABC News — and for Kamala Harris, as well.
