Kamala Harris Reportedly Attempting To Drop Out First Debate

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is reportedly attempting to withdraw from her first debate with Donald Trump, scheduled for September 10.

Fox News reported that Harris had previously attempted to tweak the debate rules but was denied by ABC News.

The Harris campaign previously attempted to get ABC News to remove muted mics, believing it would benefit her, but ABC News refused to update the rules.

Trump adviser Jason Miller told Fox News that Harris was “afraid” to debate.

Check out what Fox News reported:

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is looking for an “escape hatch” ahead of next Tuesday’s ABC News presidential debate, Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller told Fox News.

Harris’ team has notably pushed to tweak the rules surrounding microphones during the debate, slated for Sept. 10, backtracking on formerly solidified agreements to have muted mics during the opposing candidate’s speaking time.

Now, her campaign stands accused of looking for a way out.”They’re afraid,” Miller told “Sunday Morning Futures” guest host Sean Duffy.

Per The Hill:

Vice President Harris took another swing at former President Trump Saturday over the back-and-forth around the rules of the upcoming debate, claiming he is “surrendering to his advisors” by supporting muted mics.
“Donald Trump is surrendering to his advisors who won’t allow him to debate with a live microphone,” Harris said in a post on social media platform X. “If his own team doesn’t have confidence in him, the American people definitely can’t.”

“We are running for President of the United States,” the vice president continued. “Let’s debate in a transparent way — with the microphones on the whole time.”

Harris’s remarks came in response to a thread by Washington Post journalist Josh Dawsey outlining the rules for the upcoming debate that Trump accepted and what her campaign has asked for as well.

The vice president also echoed similar jabs made earlier this week by her campaign.
