UPDATE: Kentucky Shooter Who Killed 4 People Was Sex Offender


New details have emerged that the 21-year-old who killed four people at a Kentucky birthday party was a registered sex offender.

Chase Garvey, 21, who was identified as the gunman who killed four people at a Kentucky birthday party before taking his life, was a registered sex offender.

Garvey was previously convicted of ” Unlawful transaction with a minor to the 2nd degree.”

On Saturday, Garvey opened fire at a birthday party in Florence, Kentucky, that he was not invited to and killed four people and injured several others.

Garvey then fled the scene and was chased by the police before turning the gun on himself.

A convicted felon killed four people at a Kentucky birthday party on Saturday before he fatally shot himself while fleeing from the police.

The deadly shooting happened just before 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Ridgecrest Drive in Florence, KY where homeowner Melissa Parrett was hosting a 21st birthday for her son, according to police.

The gunman, identified as 21-year-old Chase Garvey, was not invited to the party, where he also injured three people during his rampage.

“When officers arrived, they still heard shots being fired,” Florence Police Chief Jeff Mallery said on Saturday. “When they got to the residence, they saw multiple victims. Partygoers told them that the suspect had fled.”

Police identified the four victims as Parrett, 44, Shane Miller, 20, Hayden Rybicki, 20 and Delaney Eary, 19.

“She was the life of the party, one neighbor told WLWT of Parrett.

“She was always up for having fun. Swimming in her pool. Having a few drinks. She was a really good woman. And a great mother.”

The incident happened at around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday when officers responded to reports of a shooting on Ridgecrest Drive in Florence, a city in Boone County, about 9 miles southwest of Cincinnati.

“When officers arrived, they still heard shots being fired and they approached the residence,” Florence Police Chief Jeff Mallery said. “When they got to the residence, they saw multiple victims and once they got into the residence, the partygoers told them that the suspect had fled and gave a vehicle description.”

Other responding officers spotted the vehicle in the neighborhood and tried to pull it over, after which the suspect took off and lead police on a pursuit, Mallery said at a press conference.
