BREAKING: Rudy Giuliani Disbarred

Rudy Giuliani has just been disbarred in the state of New York.

The New York appeals court presiding over the ruling cited Giuliani’s “false and misleading” claims about the 2020 election.

He was disbarred for speaking the TRUTH.

Take a look at the breaking news:

AP reported:

Rudolph Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, federal prosecutor and legal adviser to Donald Trump, was disbarred in the state on Tuesday after a court found he repeatedly made false statements about Trump’s 2020 election loss.

A New York appeals court in Manhattan ruled that Giuliani, who had already had his New York law license suspended in 2021 for false statements he made after the election, is now “disbarred from the practice of law, effective immediately, and until the further order of this Court, and his name stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the State of New York.”

Giuliani’s attorney Arthur Aidala said they were “obviously disappointed” but not surprised by the decision. He said they “put up a valiant effort” to prevent the disbarment but “saw the writing on the wall.”

The court said in its decision that Giuliani “essentially conceded” most of the facts supporting the alleged acts of misconduct during hearings held in October 2023. Instead, the decision said, he argued that he “lacked knowledge that statements he had made were false and that he had a good faith basis to believe the allegations he made to support his claim that the 2020 Presidential election was stolen from his client.”

ABC News added:

Rudy Giuliani’s association with former President Donald Trump has cost him his law license.

Giuliani was disbarred on Tuesday in a decision handed down by the Appellate Division First Department in New York.

The ruling is a consequence of Giuliani’s “demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers, and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020.”

The decision added, “Contrary to respondent’s allegations, there is nothing on the record before us that would permit the conclusion that respondent lacked knowledge of the falsehood of the numerous statements that he made, and that he had a good faith basis to believe them to be true.”

As a lawyer, the decision said, Giuliani should have known better.

“The seriousness of respondent’s misconduct cannot be overstated,” the ruling said. “[R]espondent not only deliberately violated some of the most fundamental tenets of the legal profession, but he also actively contributed to the national strife that has followed the 2020 Presidential election, for which he is entirely unrepentant.”

Ted Goodman, a spokesman for Giuliani, said the former mayor would appeal the court’s decision.
