White House Forced To Issue NINE Embarrassing Corrections After Biden’s Latest Speech

By now, it’s hardly surprising for Joe Biden to utter some incomprehensible or laughably false statement during a speech. However, his recent remarks at an NAACP event were particularly gaffe-ridden.

In addition to glaring rhetorical errors, he made a series of bizarre claims such as asserting he was vice president during the pandemic, that he saved American families $800,000 per year, and that Donald Trump said there would be “quote, ‘bloodshed'” if he is re-elected.

All of these flubs, nine in all, were struck through and corrected in the transcript later released by the White House, according to the New York Post:

White House officials went into cleanup mode after President Biden delivered a gaffe-riddled speech to the NAACP in Detroit Sunday — making a whopping nine corrections to the formal transcript.

The changes fixed both trips of Biden’s tongue — such as calling Capitol rioters “irrectionists” — and flagrant retellings of history, like claiming he was still vice president during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The official transcript, released Monday, made no bones about the errors, with strikethroughs of Biden’s mistakes and the corrected comments included in brackets.

The 81-year-old’s address to the 69th annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner was part of an outreach effort to black Americans as polls show support for him softening in the demographic.

His speech was roundly skewered on social media:

Of course, this was just the latest example of the White House rushing to correct the glaring errors and lies in Biden’s public statements.

According to a Daily Caller from last month:

White House communications staff has had to correct President Joe Biden’s public remarks at least 148 times since the beginning of 2024, a review of official White House transcripts shows.

The White House releases an official transcript anytime the president gives a speech or takes questions. Communications staff frequently correct, add to or alter Biden’s official remarks in order to either bring them into compliance with official White House policy or, in some cases, reality, a Daily Caller analysis showed. In several cases, official statements had to be changed to convey the exact opposite of what Biden actually said.

Through 118 statements, speeches and chats with reporters spanning from Jan. 1 to April 24, the White House has officially updated its transcript with corrections to what the president said out loud at least 148 times.

Here’s some additional coverage of the aftermath of Biden’s NAACP speech:
