Trump Responds To Colombia University Cancelling Graduation

As The WLT Report covered earlier, Columbia University has announced it has canceled its commencement ceremony on May 15 after weeks of pro-Palestine protests have taken over the campus.

The Ivy League school announced its decision to cancel due to security concerns.

Instead of having its usual universitywide commencement, Colombia announced it will only have small-scale graduation ceremonies.

President Trump has made a response to Colombia and told the press, “Columbia just canceled their commencement. That shouldn’t happen. It also just came out that many of the protesters are backed by Biden’s donors.”

Here’s his full statement here:

Per The Independent:

Outside the New York court where Donald Trump is on trial for a hush money case, the former president addressed Columbia University’s announcement that commencement has been canceled due to ongoing student protests.
Trump spoke to the press while holding printed articles on the matter.

“That shouldn’t happen,” he said. He went on to mention that some of President Biden’s donors have also contributed to supporting the pro-Palestine student protesters.

The Columbia student protests began 17 April when an encampment was established on campus in an attempt to urge the school to divest from Israel.

Here’s what OutKick reported:

In an incredible act of cowardice, Columbia University has canceled its commencement and main graduation ceremony because of the anti-Israel protests that administrators have allowed to take over its campus.

“Our Deans and other colleagues who work directly with our students have been discussing plans with student leaders, and, most importantly, listening,” Columbia said in a statement.

“Based on their feedback, we have decided to make the centerpiece of our Commencement activities our Class Days and school-level ceremonies, where students are honored individually alongside their peers, rather than the University-wide ceremony that is scheduled for May 15.”

Doesn’t every American know the phrase, “You never negotiate with terrorists?” Well, you also don’t negotiate with terrorist-sympathizers, which is exactly what these anti-Israel mobs are.
