Alvin Bragg’s office is once again in the hot seat and has come under the microscope of Congressional investigators.
Jim Jordan of the House Judiciary Committee is officially probing the hiring of Matthew Colangelo.
Colangelo is a former senior official within Biden’s DOJ and was widely regarded to have been his number three man within the agency.
Why would a senior official within a federal agency go work at a local prosecutor’s office?
Jordan expressed the concerns of the ongoing probe in this letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland:
The New York Post had more on Colangelo:
Colangelo, who served as acting and later principal deputy associate attorney general during the first two years of the Biden administration, joined Bragg’s team for the Trump “hush money” case in December 2022.

Jim Jordan recently appeared on Fox News and stated: “For me the truth really is Alvin Bragg and Jack Smith are in a conspiracy to impact the 2024 race and frankly Fani Willis is a part of the effort as well.”

The Hill revealed that Colangelo has a long history of working on Trump cases:
While working at the New York attorney general’s office, Colangelo was part of a team that sued Trump’s charitable organization in 2018, proving it was improperly using funds, which led to its dismantling.
And during the tail end of the Trump administration, he was involved in the office’s probe into the Trump Organization itself.
