A longtime CNN anchor and news personality has announced her retirement from the news outlet after 16 years at the network.
Poppy Harlow, the host of “CNN This Morning,” says she is leaving the Cable News Network to focus on her family.
The veteran CNN journalist is the latest in a long line of anchors and news personalities who have either left voluntarily or been ousted from the network.
Executives at the MSM news outlet have been severing their ties with top talent and floated plans to cut the salaries of their news personalities in an effort to save the struggling media company.
Many noted Harlow’s departure as yet another sign that CNN and the broader legacy media are dying:

CNN provided this statement from Harlow:
“The nearly two decades since have been a gift. I have been inspired by you and learned so much from you – who are (and will remain) dear friends. I grew up here: as a journalist and as a person.
I was allowed to stumble, to falter, and then to try again with the support and care of this CNN family.
This place has shaped me as a leader, taught me resilience, shown me the value of perspective and how to make hard decisions.”
Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. was one of the few conservative voices to praise Harlow. He wrote:
“Say what you want about Poppy Harlow. She was one of the only CNN shows who would consistently have me on that rotten network with my pro-police message during the Ferguson Missouri riots. That took courage. Maybe in part why she was let go.”
