SHAME: Stephan A. Smith Backtracks, Apologizes For Positive Trump Comments

I was never a big fan of Stephen A. Smith.

I always found him a bit annoying on ESPN.

But I covered him recently and gave him some well-deserved praise when he told the truth about Donald Trump and the Democrats:

Stephen A. Smith: “Trump is WHIPPIN’ y’all ass! You can’t beat him!”

Turns out my original opinion was right.

I'm not sure what happened, who got to him, or whether he just caved under pressure, but he posted a 5 minute video tonight that feels more like a hostage video rather than a Stephen A. Smith rant.

So sad.

Stephen A. Smith backtracks, says he is sorry for his positive comments about Donald Trump that went viral last week.

Every single time.

Smith, who said that black people can relate to Trump because of the injustice he is facing, now says his comments were misconstrued.

"A lot of folks in black America seem pretty pissed with me right now, from friends and loved ones to colleagues, contemporaries, and dare I say, even the NAACP itself."

"Quite a few folks were put off, if not flat out offended, after my words were interpreted as associating support for Trump from the black community with all the legal issues he’s facing."

"For that, I sincerely apologize. To be clear, my words were misconstrued."

Oh really now....your words were misconstrued?

What a lame, pussified apology!

Come on, Stephen Naysmith, you're better than that....or at least you should be!

I have to say I agree with this:

Ok Stephen, we misconstrued your words?

Let's re-examine those words, shall we?

Stephen A. Smith Says Donald Trump Is Shoo-In For Re-Election

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith stated, "Donald Trump is a shoo-in for re-election" during his latest podcast episode.

The longtime sports commentator stated, "Ladies and gentlemen, Trump’s gonna get re-elected. Donald Trump is going to be the next president of the United States if this kind of stuff that I’m reading continues to happen in American cities."

He continued, "Donald Trump is a shoo-in for re-election, even if he’s a convicted felon."

Smith's comments stem from being furious about New York City's new pilot program that will give over $53 million to illegal migrants. in the form of pre-paid visa cards.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith declared former President Trump is on the "verge" of being elected again as the economy flounders and the Biden administration appears to care more about illegal immigrants than struggling Americans.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Trump’s gonna get re-elected. Donald Trump is going to be the next president of the United States if this kind of stuff that I’m reading continues to happen in American cities, Donald Trump is a shoo-in for re-election, even if he’s a convicted felon," Smith said Tuesday night on his podcast.

Smith said that "someone’s got to say it, so I’m going to say it," before telling listeners about the controversial pilot program to hand out prepaid credit cards to migrant families housed in hotels across New York City, where Smith lives and works.

"What it came down to for me was this. I see homeless folks in the street of New York all the time that are American citizens, I damn sure see them in California. We’ve got poor, impoverished, starving people who are born and raised in this nation," Smith said.

ESPN media personality Stephen A. Smith slammed Democrats Tuesday for prioritizing illegal immigrants over American citizens. The “First Take” host specifically called out Democrat leaders in New York City for announcing a $53 million pilot program providing pre-paid debit cards for illegal immigrants to buy food and essential supplies while ignoring American citizens in need.

During Tuesday’s podcast episode of the “Stephen A. Smith Show,” Smith suggested that current Democrat policies are going to help former President Donald Trump get re-elected in the 2024 presidential election. The ESPN host claimed that Trump would be a “shoo-in for re-election even if he’s a convicted felon” if American citizens are not properly prioritized.

Discussing Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ new $53 million pilot program for illegal immigrant families, Smith said, “I see homeless folks in the streets of New York all the time that are American citizens. I damn sure see them in California. We’ve got poor, impoverished, starving people who were born and raised in this nation. How in the hell do we come up with a $53 million pilot program for illegals — but folks who are here legally or born here — we don’t have enough for them?”
