ARREST WARRANT Issued For Democrat Lawmaker

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Democrat lawmaker from Pennsylvania after he allegedly violated a protective order.

Sources say Pennsylvania State Rep. Kevin Boyle is alleged to have violated a protective order filed by his ex-wife by texting her.

At the time of this writing, we have not yet seen confirmation that Boyle is in law enforcement custody.

This isn’t the first time the Pennsylvania lawmaker has made headlines due to his public behavior either.

Boyle’s arrest warrant has sparked a debate about his eligibility to vote in Pennsylvania’s legislature. Here’s what is currently being reported:

CBS News provided this statement from Boyle’s family:

“Tragically, several months ago his symptoms returned. In recent weeks his mental health has even further deteriorated.

It’s been painful to watch an intelligent, accomplished person with a big heart decline in such a precipitous way.

Kevin’s family, close friends, and several colleagues have done everything possible to get him to enter into treatment, but we have been frustrated by a system that gives little power to the loved ones of an adult with a serious mental health condition.”

Many took issue with Rep. Boyle’s eligibility to vote despite being at odds with the law and touched on other troubling events from the lawmaker’s past.

The New York Post highlighted the general response to Boyle’s incident from GOP lawmakers:

“We tried to address this situation this morning by asking that Mr. Boyle be placed on leave,” Republican caucus leader Rep. Bryan Cutler (Lancaster) said.

“The Democrats are insisting that not only he’s not on leave, but he is in fact eligible to vote.”
