Tucker Carlson’s latest interview with Telegram founder Pavel Durov seems to have gripped the online world and revealed even more government malfeasance in the big tech sector.
Durov alleges that the U.S. government attempted to co-opt Telegram into being a censorship agent of the state, and even went so far as to try to install a backdoor into the social media platform.
The tech entrepreneur claims this was done by government agents approaching a Telegram engineer and attempting to hire him out to set up a backdoor inside the company’s core code.
Despite all this, Telegram has managed to stay a hub of free speech, and that’s why Tucker Carlson made his recent announcement.
The independent media host recently launched a new Telegram channel which you can access and subscribe to by clicking here. Take a look at Tucker’s announcement and his full interview with Pavel Durov below:

Russia Today provided this statement from Durov:
“As a leader of a politically neutral platform, it is my responsibility to speak to journalists representing different political views,” Durov said in a post on his official channel.
“This way I can remain fair to all audiences and tell the story of Telegram to everyone.”
Telegram founder Pavel Durov told Carlson during the interview:
“Whenever I would go to the US I would have two FBI agents greeting me at the airport, asking questions. One time I was having my breakfast at 9 am and the FBI showed up [at]… my house.
That was quite surprising. I thought, we’re getting too much attention here. It’s probably not the best environment to run an [app].
They were interested to learn more about Telegram. They knew I left Russia. They knew what we were doing, but they wanted details. My understanding is that they wanted to establish a relationship to control Telegram better.”
