Police in the town of Salem, Massachusetts responded to an incident at the Satanic Temple in Salem on Monday morning.
Sources say that an explosive device was found on the porch of the temple and was thrown there at approximately 4:15 AM on Monday.
The device did detonate, though no one was harmed in the explosion, and the damage to the property was minimal.
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the matter, though it is not yet clear who is responsible.
In the wake of the attack, one individual speculated: “Who wants to bet this will be labeled as domestic terrorism performed by White Christian Nationalism?” Here’s what we currently know:

The New York Post revealed:
It was not the first time that the Salem Satanic Temple has been on the receiving end of threats and alleged hate crimes, according to police.
In January, a Michigan man was arrested for allegedly plotting to bomb the site.
NBC 10 Boston provided this update: “Police and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating after an explosive device was thrown onto the porch of the Satanic Temple in Salem.”

Editor of the Boston Business Journal Don Seiffert had this to say: “My daughter’s elementary school is a block away from the Satanic Temple. I hope whoever tried to bomb it is found and prosecuted to the full extent. Sick.”

Daily Mail clarified;
The Satanic Temple opened in the notoriously spooky town in 2016, pledging itself to ‘fight a perceived intrusion of Christian values on American politics’ more ardently than worshipping Satan.
It is not associated with the 1960s Church of Satan founded by Anton LeVay.
