Thanks to the ridiculous legal fees President Trump has been forced to pay to hurt his campaign run, he still needs additional funds to close the cash gap to Biden.
Biden is estimated to have around $192 million for his campaign, while President Trump has $93 million.
Fox News provides more on the fundraiser on Saturday:
Saturday’s fundraiser took place at a private home in Palm Beach, hosted by billionaire and hedge fund founder John Paulson. Among the 100 or so guests will be heavy-hitters like casino mogul Steve Wynn, Bigelow Aerospace Founder and President Robert Bigelow, and former U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.
“The response to our fundraising efforts has been overwhelming, and we’ve raised over $43 million so far,” Paulson said in a statement. “There is massive support amongst a broad spectrum of donors.”
While President Trump was smashing records, it took three democratic Presidents, Obama, Clinton, and Biden, to bring in $26 million.
ABC News provides more on the campaign event:
Ticketed north of $800,000 per donor, the event raised money for the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee, and dozens of state GOP committees as well as Trump’s Save America leadership PAC — up to $5,000 per donor — which has covered tens of millions of dollars of his legal bills, according to disclosures.
Co-chairs of Trump’s Saturday fundraiser include several former ambassadors and Trump administration officials like former Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon and former Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross as well as New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, according to an invitation to the fundraiser that was obtained by ABC News.
