Roger Clemens Is Back On The Mound, Pitching For The Savannah Bananas

Legendary MLB pitcher Roger Clemens is back on the mound.

The 7x Cy Young winner made his way back on the pitcher’s mound at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, as a member of the Savannah Bananas.

In his appearance, Clemens gave up three hits, including a home run, and put out one batter.

Watch Clemens take the rubber here:

Here’s what The New York Post reported:

Roger Clemens donned a banana-colored jersey to make his umpteenth return to baseball.

Clemens, 61, surprisingly pitched Saturday night for the Savannah Bananas — a popular barnstorming exhibition baseball team — in front of a crowd of about 41,000 at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

He gave up three hits, including a home run, and retired one batter against the rival Party Animals.

The seven-time Cy Young Award winner — who indecisively retired and unretired several times late in his 24-year career — last pitched in MLB in 2007, for the Yankees.

Per Out Kick:

I imagine there are different points of view on the Savannah Bananas. Some probably aren’t big on the gimmick while others can understand that it’s entertainment and a fun night out.

But the one thing I’m not sure how anyone could not love is when they bring back retired Big Leaguers.

They did just that on Saturday in Houston.

The Bananas were doing their thing at Minute Maid Park when they decided to make a pitching change and brought in none other than Roger Clemens.

Clemens of course spent a few of the last years of his MLB career in Houston, and the crowd was clearly fired up to see him back in action.
