IT’S OVER: Nikki Haley Officially Drops Out 2024 Presidential Race, REFUSES to Endorse Trump

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has officially suspended her campaign after suffering significant losses on Super Tuesday.

The former governor of South Carolina made the announcement during a press conference at her campaign headquarters on Daniel Island.

In her announcement, Haley notably did not state she would endorse Trump but instead called for Trump to win over her voters.

Per NBC News:

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley dropped out of the 2024 presidential race Wednesday after losing every state but Vermont in Super Tuesday’s primary contests, ceding the Republican nomination to former President Donald Trump.

Haley’s decision to end her campaign effectively kicks off the general election, with Trump and President Joe Biden taking unofficial command of their parties early in primary season after a string of victories.

“I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we’ve received from all across our great country, but the time has now come to suspend my campaign,” Haley said in a speech Wednesday morning. “I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard — I have done that. I have no regrets. And although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in.”

Haley didn’t announce an endorsement during her remarks Wednesday. Instead, she encouraged Trump, who is close to having the delegates needed to win the GOP nomination, to earn the support of Republicans and independent voters who backed her.

Per Counton 2:

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley suspended her campaign for president Wednesday following sweeping losses in all but one Republican primary on Super Tuesday.

The announcement came Wednesday morning during a short speech in front of campaign staff, volunteers, and her family at Haley’s campaign headquarters on Daniel Island.

“I am filled with gratitude for the outpouring of support we’ve received from across our great country. But the time has now come to suspend my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. I have done that. I have no regrets. And although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in,” she said.

Her exit leaves Trump as the last remaining major candidate seeking the Republican nomination. The former president is on track to reach the necessary 1,215 delegates to clinch the nomination later this month and will now pivot to focus solely on his anticipated rematch with President Joe Biden in November.

The former U.N. Ambassador, was Trump’s first significant rival when she jumped into the race in February 2023, promising a “new generation” of leader. She initially said in 2021 that she would not run for president in 2024 if Trump did, but later changed course.
