President Trump Throws Out A New Name As Potential VP

President Trump has just floated a new name as his possible running mate for the 2024 election.

During his trip to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, Trump mentioned Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as a potential VP pick.

Trump confirmed in an interview with Sean Hannity that Gov. Abbott is “absolutely” on his VP list and praised the Texas governor as a “a spectacular man” who has “done a great job.”

Watch here:

The Houston Chronicle reported:

Former President Donald Trump said Gov. Greg Abbott is “absolutely” on his list of potential running mates after touring the state’s border security operations in Eagle Pass on Thursday.

“Certainly he would be somebody that I would very much consider,” Trump said of Abbott, who he said has “done a great job” and is a “spectacular man.”

Trump, the likely GOP presidential nominee, made the comments during a joint appearance with Abbott on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show. Hannity asked Trump if he would consider Abbott as vice president.

“I’ve been hearing that more and more from friends of mine,” Trump said. “After the show, I think I’m going to hear it a lot more, too.”

However, Gov. Abbott has since responded that his “focus is entirely on the state of Texas.”

The Texas Tribune wrote:

During his interview, Trump also praised Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott when asked by Hannity if there were any other VP candidates he was considering.

Per Axios:

Trump’s prospective VP picks include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), among others.

  • During the interview with Hannity, Trump also took time to praise Scott as a “very good man.”

What do you think?
