Gavin Newsom’s Governorship Threatened, Recall Attempt Underway!

Gavin Newsom’s Governorship is once again under threat.

The California Governor is facing yet another recall attempt after the first one, which occurred in 2o21, failed.

Newsom protected his seat against challenger Larry Elder, but fed-up Californians are once again trying to remove the Democrat Governor from his post.

Concerned citizens say that Newsom has essentially abandoned his duties within the state to focus on a potential bid for the White House.

Newsom was served the recall petition by conservative activists on Monday morning. Here’s what we currently know:

Politico spoke with the activist group leading the charge to remove Newsom:

“Gavin Newsom has abandoned the state to advance his presidential ambitions, leaving behind a $73 billion budget deficit and a public safety, immigration and education crisis,” said Anne Dunsmore, an Orange County fundraiser and the campaign director for Rescue California.

She said more than 400 Californians of varying political persuasion have joined together to serve as official proponents of the new recall.

That includes others from the last effort such as Orrin Heatlie, the retired county sheriff’s sergeant from Yolo who helped get the ball rolling in 2020.

Leading Report explained: “The attempt would require more than 1.3 million valid voter signatures to qualify for the November ballot.”

Some of the same conservative activists organized a similar recall effort in 2021, when Newsom overcame his former presidential candidate and radio host Larry Elder by roughly 30 points.
