This Thursday, President Trump and Joe Biden will both visit the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump announced several days ago his plans to deliver remarks in Eagle Pass, TX.
Earlier today, the Biden campaign revealed that he will also be making a (very rare) trip to the border in Brownsville, TX to meet with border patrol agents and local leaders.
When asked about his impending trip to the border on the same day as Trump, Biden looked a bit caught of guard as he bit into his favorite treat (you guessed it — ice cream!).
He responded that he “didn’t know…my good friend is apparently going,” referring to Trump’s planned border visit.
He also said he’s “not gonna announce ahead of time” what exactly he is planning to do at the border.

Fox News commented on Trump and Biden’s dueling border visits:
President Biden is set to visit the southern border on Thursday – the same day former President Trump is also scheduled to go.
Biden is expected to travel to Brownsville, Texas, to meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, law enforcement and local leaders, according to a White House official.
That same day, Trump is to deliver remarks in Eagle Pass, Texas, Fox News previously confirmed.
Brownsville and Eagle Pass are about 325 miles, or about a five-hour, 20-minute drive, apart.
Biden is expected to use his trip to talk about the importance of passing the Senate’s bipartisan border security agreement, the White House official said, adding that the president will “reiterate his calls for Congressional Republicans to stop playing politics and to provide the funding needed for additional U.S. Border Patrol agents, more asylum officers, fentanyl detection technology and more.”
NBC News added more details:
President Joe Biden will make a rare visit to the U.S.-Mexico border Thursday, the same day former President Donald Trump is also expected to visit the southern border.
“Biden will travel to Brownsville, Texas to meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, law enforcement officials and local leaders,” the White House said in a statement.
ADVERTISEMENT“He will discuss the urgent need to pass the Senate bipartisan border security agreement, the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border in decades,” the statement said. “He will reiterate his calls for Congressional Republicans to stop playing politics and to provide the funding needed for additional U.S. Border Patrol agents, more asylum officers, fentanyl detection technology and more.”
Two sources familiar with Trump’s planning told NBC News that he Trump will deliver remarks at Eagle Pass, Texas, which is about 330 miles from Biden’s stop.
Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that the White House is sending Biden to the border because, she claimed, he’s “losing terribly” in the 2024 race. “Biden’s last-minute, insincere attempt to chase President Trump to the border won’t cut it,” she said.
