Judge Gives Ruling About Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler’s Sexual Assault Case

Steven Victor Tallarico, 71, known professionally as Steven Tyler, lead singer for Aerosmith, has recently been faced with a lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting a teen model, Jeanne Bellino, decades ago.

The U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan overlooking the matter ruled that she waited too long and dismissed it.

He stated:

“The complaint in this case does not alleged conduct presenting a serious risk of physical injury and therefore fails to state a legally sufficient claim under the [statute],” the judge wrote.

There have been cases before where victims have waited years, even decades, before they came forward.

First one that pops to mind is Bill Cosby. In November 2014 he was accused by 18 women of alleged assaults committed between 1965 and 2004.

It is interesting why some do wait so long to come forward. Then there are plenty of those making false claims to get money and attention.

Yahoo! News reports:

A U.S. judge has dismissed a sexual assault lawsuit against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

The lawsuit alleged that Tyler had sexually assaulted former teenage model Jeanne Bellino twice in one day nearly 50 years ago.

A Manhattan District judge on Wednesday said Bellino had waited too long to sue the 75-year-old Tyler, who has denied the allegations.

Bellino said she met Aerosmith in Manhattan in 1975 when she was 17.

She alleged that she was walking down the street with Tyler, then 27, when he pushed her into a phone booth, groped her and put his tongue down her throat and later assaulted her again at the Warwick Hotel.

The judge said Bellino did not qualify for a window to pursue claims that would otherwise extend beyond statutes of limitations.

But this may not be the end of it.

A lawyer representing Bellino says they will try to reinstate the case on the grounds that Steven Tyler’s didn’t follow court rules.
