Talk about shameless opportunism—it doesn’t get much worse than this.
Tucker Carlson recently outed former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson for allegedly requesting a $1 million payout for interviewing with the popular, independent news host.
This is insane at face value no matter who the figure is or how famous they are. Interviews and media appearances are ends, in and of, themselves.
However, Johnson’s request is even more far-fetched given the fact that he is a washed-up establishment politician with the looks of an orangutan.
This is the same political figure that recently penned an op-ed in the Daily Mail, an outlet I respect, about how Carlson is Hitler reincarnate because he dared to interview Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Johnson is also widely reported to have derailed the Russia-Ukraine peace talks—something alleged by Putin in the historic interview. Could this be why Johnson chose to attack Carlson in the recent op-ed?
Carlson recently explained what happened when he reached out to Johnson during this interview with The Blaze:
Tucker: "Boris Johnson calls me a tool of the Kremlin or something. So I put in a request for an interview with Boris Johnson. Finally one of his advisors gets back to me and says he will talk to you but it's going to cost you a million dollars. He wants a million dollars." pic.twitter.com/Y7qADbx2H4

Here is just a portion of Boris Johnson’s op-ed featured in the Daily Mail:
In his fawning, guffawing, slack-jawed happiness at having a ‘scoop’, he betrayed his viewers and listeners around the world.
He didn’t ask tough questions. He didn’t ask Putin why even now he is using the most brutal means of modern warfare to maim and murder innocent Ukrainian civilians.
He didn’t take him to task for the torture, the rapes, the blowing up of kindergartens — all of it wholly unnecessary and unprovoked. Not once did he even try to dam the flow of lies from Putin.
The responses to Tucker Carlson’s allegations of the $1 million demand made by Boris Johnson were overwhelmingly negative.

The Hill added:
The former U.K. leader said he prays “that the people of the U.S. are able to see through last night’s unholy charade of an interview.”
ADVERTISEMENTHe also addressed the members of Congress who are blocking aid from being sent to Ukraine and said “for God’s sake, remember who you are.”
