Chicago Mayor Claims He Can’t Visit Southern Border Because Of His ‘Black Wife’ And Kids

Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has faced significant backlash, particularly from Black residents of the city, for his far-left policy of welcoming undocumented immigrants with open arms.

Last year, he attempted to address such concerns by announcing that he would be visiting the U.S.-Mexico border to assess the situation first-hand, though he canceled those plans and has not yet confirmed if and when he will make the trip.

He was confronted about the issue by a reporter this week, and it didn’t take him long to bring race into the conversation.

As Breitbart reported:

“But you’re asking me to give you a date and I have to court — do you understand that you have not had a mayor like me, I get that.”

He exploded. This alludes to the fact that the last handful of mayors did not have young children while in office. Indeed, the recently deposed mayor, Lori Lightfoot was involved in a childless same-sex relationship.

I have a wife, I have children, they have schedules,” he ranted on. “And plus, we still have public safety we have to address, we still have the unhoused that we have to address. I still have a budget that I have to address, and I’m doing all of that with a black wife raising three black children on the west side of the city of Chicago.”

The immigration issue in Chicago, like in many other Democratic-led big cities, has been a hot topic of debate in recent months.

Black Chicagoans have been up in arms about the preferential treatment they say migrants have been receiving from the mayor and other city leaders.

According to TownHall:

As the Windy City continues to face unprecedented amounts of border crossers wreaking havoc on neighborhoods, Black Chicagoans are ready for Republicans to flip Chicago red.

Chicago residents Cata Truss and Mark Carter appeared onFox & Friends Firstto bring attention to the growing border crisis that has flooded their city with illegal aliens thanks to Biden’s open border policies.

“The Democratic Party has always neglected to pay attention to the Black community,” Truss said. “That is traditional, and because we have been so committed to supporting that party, they feel that they can continue to disrespect us, to marginalize us, to not hear our voices.”

Truss went on to slam Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson for refusing to stop illegal aliens from ruining the Windy City. She said that after only eight months of Johnson being in office, it is clear the Democratic Party will not stand up and make a change.

Here’s some footage from one of the many tense public hearings held in the city under Johnson’s leadership:
