WATCH: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Rejects Possible Vice President Role

One of the names being floated as Trump’s potential running mate for 2024 is Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Sanders has been loyal to Trump and previously worked in his administration as press secretary.

When asked about rumors of a potential vice presidential role, Sanders shut down the idea.

Speaking to CBS News, Sanders said, “Look, I absolutely love the job I have. I think it’s one of the best jobs I could ever ask for, and I am honored to serve as governor, and I hope I get to do it for the next seven years.”

More from CBS News:

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump, did not directly answer if she would be the former president’s running mate, suggesting she would be in her job for seven more years.

“Look, I absolutely love the job I have,” Sanders told “Face the Nation.” “I think it’s one of the best jobs I could ever ask for and I am honored to serve as governor and I hope I get to do it for the next seven years.”

Still, Sanders, who took office last year, touted her endorsement of Trump in recent months, saying that the coming presidential election “is very simple,” while contrasting Trump’s record with President Biden’s.

“It’s a very clear contrast,” Sanders said. “One has a record of success coming from a posture in a position of strength in Donald Trump, and one who comes from a position of weakness.”

The Washington Examiner added:

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AK) said Sunday that she loves her job as Arkansas governor when asked about the possibility of joining former President Donald Trump‘s 2024 ticket as vice president.

While appearing on Face the Nation Sunday, Sanders, who previously served as Trump’s White House press secretary, praised Trump and suggested that she expects him to beat President Joe Biden should he become the Republican Party’s nominee.

Sanders was also asked about the prospect of serving as Trump’s vice president, as she is rumored to be one of several options the former president is considering for the position.

“Look, I absolutely love the job I have,” Sanders said. “I think it’s one of the best jobs I could ever ask for. And I’m honored to serve as governor, and I hope I get to do it for the next seven years.”
