“It is with shock and extreme sadness that I share my Ex-husband died this morning,” his ex-wife Nadine Kijner shared on Instagram.

“Thank you for so many wonderful memories and being such a good man. Fly free into the Un-boundless source of light, Peter. May you be greeted with love by your parents, and Oliver. So so many people loved you because you were a kind, giving, caring and creative Soul.”

More from the Rolling Stones:

Crombie was best known for his five-episode run on the fourth season of Seinfeld portraying “Crazy” Joe Davola, a mentally unstable sitcom writer with a grudge against Jerry Seinfeld. Over the course of his arc, Davola also briefly dated and stalked Julia Louis Dreyfus’ Elaine Benes, dressed up like the clown from the opera Pagliacci, and assaulted Kramer before his character disappeared following the Season 4 finale.

“Crazy” Joe Davola landed at Number 50 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Seinfeld Characters. “He leaves his apartment door open in order to encourage intruders. He cries while lifting weights. And he has no problem roundhouse kicking Kramer in the head,” Rolling Stone wrote.
