The Democrats have made it very clear that they do not care about the invasion happening at America’s own doorstep…

Though they may feign concern for border security during an election year if they think it will benefit them, Democrats take no action to stop illegal immigration from happening. In fact, they often actively work against any attempts to secure the border.

Now, get this: The Department of Justice, underneath Biden, is threatening to sue the state of Texas if they enforce a new border security law.

The law, which was signed by Gov. Greg Abbott and is set to begin in March, would allow state officials to arrest and deport any person who illegally crosses the border into Texas.

News of the DOJ’s threats is making quite a storm on X.

Many folks are wondering: Who’s the real enemy here?

Despite the DOJ’s threats, Texas is not backing down.

They are prepared to escalate things all the way to the Supreme Court, if need be, to ensure the border security law goes, and stays, in effect.

The Houston Chronicle has more on this:

The Department of Justice is warning Gov. Greg Abbott that it will sue if Texas moves forward with legislation empowering state officials to remove people from the U.S. who they suspect of being in the country illegally.

The new legislation, which Abbott signed into law earlier this month, is unconstitutional and will disrupt the federal government’s immigration enforcement operations, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian M. Boynton wrote in a letter to the governor obtained by Hearst Newspapers.

The letter says that if Abbott does not confirm the state will forgo enforcement of the law by Wednesday, “the United States will pursue all appropriate legal remedies to ensure that Texas does not interfere with the functions of the federal government.”

The law, set to take effect in March, would allow any law enforcement officer in Texas to arrest migrants accused of unlawfully entering the state from Mexico and empower judges to order their removal.

It is a major escalation of Abbott’s border security initiative, Operation Lone Star, and has been cast by the governor and other Texas Republicans as an invitation for the Supreme Court to revisit longstanding precedent leaving immigration enforcement solely to the federal government.

“Texas is prepared to take this fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect Texans and Americans from President Biden’s open border policies,” said Renae Eze, Abbott’s director of communications. “President Biden’s deliberate and dangerous inaction at our southern border has left Texas to fend for itself. Gov. Abbott signed Senate Bill 4 into law last week to help stop the tidal wave of illegal entry into Texas as the President refuses to enforce federal immigration laws.”

Fox News also reported:

The Biden administration on Thursday threatened to sue Texas if it moves forward with a new anti-illegal immigration law signed this month by Gov. Greg Abbott – but the Republican governor says he is prepared to take the fight to the Supreme Court.

Abbott signed the legislation, SB 4, this month, which allows law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants and allows state judges to order them removed from the country.

In a letter to Abbott, first reported by the Houston Chronicle, the Department of Justice says it will “pursue all appropriate legal remedies to ensure that Texas does not interfere with the functions of the federal government.”

The letter says that the law “intrudes into a field that is occupied by the federal government and is preempted,” citing a 2012 Supreme Court ruling, U.S. v Arizona, which found that the federal government has the power to enforce immigration law, according to the outlet.
